We have a new design and the excitement is mounting as Filmfest 2024 approaches. The festival team is already looking forward to meeting all the terrific guests who will be coming this summer!

First things first: we’re a festival for the general public. Anyone in Munich may attend a screening of any of our films. For the price of a standard movie ticket, your time at the festival is always a special event — and at most of our screenings, you’ll meet members of the various film teams.

Details regarding ticket prices and the date when tickets go on sale will be posted here in advance of the festival. From June 28 to July 7, you’ll have the opportunity to discover real cinematic gems, attend any of our numerous free film talks, and celebrate the latest premieres with us.

Make a note of June 28, as that Friday will see the first events of the festival that are open to the public. On June 29, we will present the festival’s opening film to Munich moviegoers at the Amerikahaus, concurrent with the (invitation-only) opening gala at the Gasteig HP8. You’ll find all the relevant details about our citywide festival locations here.

As always, the films in the CineKindl, New German Television Productions, and New German Cinema sections will be announced before we publish information about all the films on our website in mid-June.
