GETTING AROUND

All festival theaters are within 15 minutes' walking distance of each other and easy to get to using public transportation – S-Bahn, U-Bahn, and the 18 tram.

The Movie Mile

Munich's public transport has a somewhat confusing variety of tickets and prices. If you ride more than once, getting a Striped Card ("Streifenkarte") is most practical. Punch one stripe for short trips (i.e. along the Movie Mile), two stripes for trips exceeding 4 tram stops or 2 subway stops. If you punch two stripes, ticket is valid for three hours on all public transport. Punch again if you reverse directions.
